Trials and Generosity in the First Days (Pics Included!)

Here is the first update on the progress being made by Aaron and Eric!  According to the duo, the first day's ride went right according to plan.  They arrived in their campsite in Paarl without incident, but a late night rainstorm caught the cyclists by surprise and drenched all of their gear.  Frustrated and soaked, Aaron and Eric got an early start on day two and set off in the wind and rain towards their second destination, Ceres.  On top of the adversarial elements, mountainous passes provided an incredibly difficult day, which was made only worse when the chain broke on Aaron's bicycle.  With fingers too cold to successfully repair the equipment, Aaron and Eric waited on the side of the road until a wonderful lady drove by and picked up the cyclists.  She and her husband drove them to her home in Ceres, where she offered them both a warm shower, hot dinner, and a nice bed for the night. The cyclists were able to make the necessary repairs and even do some additional planning for the days to come.  Thank goodness for the generosity of strangers!
